Helping Arvada's Kids

The Southeast Arvada Project is a collaboration between Arvada Rotary Club and the Wildcat Club of Arvada West High School.  (The Wildcat Club is comprised of National Honor Society students.)  The Wildcat club joins with students from Foster Elementary School once a month (usually on a Saturday) for a unique life and/or educational experience.

Students at Foster generally come from low income, one-parent families.  Thus, things like skiing, bowling and movies are beyond the life experience of these kids.  Arvada Rotary Club provides a bus and the funds required to do these types of things.  The Wildcat Club members act as mentors for the younger kids.

Additionally, the Wildcat Club hosts science fairs, sports contests, and the like at the school.

Some Key Benefits:

  • National Honor Students have an opportunity to perform needed community service
  • Students from low-income families experience new things and have fun with accomplished young people
  • Arvada Rotarians are involved with the youth of the community
